About MMCX LLC
MMCX LLC builds software for AV network engineers. We make the tools that help professionals configure, troubleshoot, and maintain the IP-based media systems behind live events, broadcast facilities, and permanent installations.
The protocols that drive modern AV — Dante, NDI, SMPTE 2110, Q-SYS, AES67 — require deep, specialized knowledge. We build software that helps engineers develop that knowledge, whether they're learning the fundamentals or need a quick reference tool at a job site.
Based in California, MMCX LLC was built by people who've worked in broadcast trucks, convention centers, and live event venues. Every feature we ship is designed for how the work actually happens — under time pressure, often without reliable internet, and always with zero room for error.
Founder
Background in broadcast engineering and live event production. Built Octet Operator out of the realization that AV network engineers deserved better training tools than reading RFCs and hoping for the best.
The Name
MMCX = 2110
M (1000) + M (1000) + C (100) + X (10) = 2110
A nod to SMPTE ST 2110, the suite of standards for professional media over IP networks. 2110 is where the broadcast industry is headed, and it's at the core of what we build for.
What We Build
